Doughty Safety Bonds — Stage Lighting Safety Wire

Doughty safety bonds are professional safety wires made from black wire rope, designed to provide a secondary fixing for rigged lighting fixtures in theatres, studios, schools, and live event venues. Also known as safety cables or safety bond wire, they act as a backup in case the primary clamp or fixing fails — preventing lighting fixtures from falling and protecting people below. Available in six variants — including the popular Doughty 15kg safety bond — with a safe working load ranging from 5kg to 100kg, and in lengths from 500mm to 1000mm, there is a Doughty safety bond to suit every fixture from lightweight barn doors to large moving heads.

Each Doughty safety bond is manufactured in-house at Doughty's UK factory, marked with a WLL, serial number, and company details on a heat shrink sleeve for full traceability — and each batch comes with its own test certificate. British designed and manufactured by Doughty Engineering, these bonds are trusted by rigging professionals across theatre, broadcast, and live events.
