Maglite

We sell the Maglite Mini Mag range of AA and AAA torches, in both LED and incandescent versions, along with genuine replacement bulbs, giving a compact, durable torch built to the same standard Maglite has used for decades.

Every Mini Mag is machined from aluminium rather than moulded plastic, giving it the drop resistance and build quality Maglite is known for, in a size small enough for a pocket, glovebox or keyring. The range covers everyday carry and backup lighting rather than heavy-duty site torches, with AAA Solitaire models for minimal bulk and AA models for longer runtime and a brighter beam.

Maglite – Product list

The Mini Maglite: a compact classic

Maglite built its reputation on machined aluminium torch bodies designed to survive drops, knocks and daily use far better than typical plastic torches. The Mini Mag shrinks that same durability into a pocket-sized AA or AAA torch, making it a common choice for a car glovebox, toolbox or everyday carry rather than heavy-duty site work.

LED vs incandescent Mini Mag

The LED versions in this range, such as the SP32 and SP22017, give brighter output and far longer bulb life than the older incandescent models like the M2A016 and K3A016 Solitaire. Incandescent Mini Mags remain available for anyone replacing a like-for-like torch or preferring the warmer beam colour, but LED is the better choice for most everyday use given the lower running cost from not needing bulb replacements.

AA vs AAA: which Mini Mag to choose

The AAA Solitaire is Maglite's smallest torch, built for keyring or pocket carry where size matters more than beam distance. The AA Mini Mag models step up in both battery life and light output, better suited to a glovebox, drawer or bag where a bit more size is no issue. Neither is intended as a replacement for a full-size torch on a job site needing sustained high output.

Keeping your Mini Maglite running

Genuine replacement bulbs are stocked for both the AA Mini Mag and the AAA Solitaire, so an incandescent torch doesn't need replacing outright when the bulb fails. Always match the bulb code to the specific torch model, since AA and Solitaire bulbs aren't interchangeable.

Frequently Asked Questions

The LED versions give brighter, more consistent light output and don't need bulb replacements, while incandescent models use a traditional filament bulb that eventually needs replacing and gives a warmer, dimmer beam.
No. AA and AAA Mini Maglite bulbs are sized for their specific torch body and aren't interchangeable. Always match the replacement bulb to the exact torch model.
Incandescent bulbs typically last a few hours of continuous use before the filament fails, which is normal wear rather than a fault. LED versions don't use a replaceable bulb and last significantly longer under normal use.
Yes, for everyday carry, a glovebox or a toolbox. The machined aluminium body is built to withstand drops and knocks far better than a typical plastic torch, though it isn't intended as a heavy-duty site torch for prolonged industrial use.
Check the batteries first, since corrosion or depleted batteries are the most common cause. If the batteries are fine, the bulb may have failed on an incandescent model, or the contact points inside the torch body may need cleaning.
