Gripit
Gripit provides an instant solution to an enduring problem: fixing heavier items securely to plasterboard. Through ease of use and high performance, Gripit fixings offer a straightforward way to mount shelves, TVs, mirrors and curtain rails without needing to locate a stud or joist behind the wall.
Fitting a Gripit fixing is simple: drill, tap and turn. Once turned, the fixing's fanned legs spread out flat against the back of the plasterboard, gripping the full thickness of the board rather than relying on the plasterboard's outer face alone, which is what makes them hold significantly more weight than a standard wall plug.

How Gripit fixings work
Unlike a standard plastic wall plug, which grips only the surface layer of plasterboard and can pull through under load, a Gripit fixing passes fully through the board. Turning the fixing folds its legs out flat against the rear face of the plasterboard, spreading the load across a wider area and using the board's full thickness for grip rather than just the outer skin. This is why Gripit fixings hold substantially more weight than conventional cavity fixings of a similar size.
Colour-coded sizes and weight ratings
Gripit fixings are colour-coded by size, so you can match the fixing to both the plasterboard thickness and the load being mounted. The Blue 25mm fixing holds up to 113kg, the largest in the range, suited to heavier items like TV brackets and bathroom cabinets. The Brown 20mm fixing holds up to 93kg, the Red 18mm fixing up to 74kg, and the Yellow 15mm fixing up to 71kg. Each size is available in smaller packs of 4 and 8 for one-off jobs, or packs of 25 and 100 for trade use.
TwistIT self-drive fixings
The Gripit TwistIT range simplifies installation further, self-driving into the plasterboard without needing a separate pilot hole step beforehand, useful for lighter fixing jobs where speed matters more than maximum load capacity.
Ready-made kits for common jobs
For specific household tasks, Gripit offers pre-configured kits with the right fixings already included: the Shelf Kit, Mirror Kit, TV Kit and Curtain Kit each take the guesswork out of choosing the right fixing size for the job. For a broader mix of sizes on hand, the 32 Piece Assorted Kit and 16 Piece Multi Pack cover multiple colours and sizes in one box.
Undercutting tools and drill bits
Before fitting a Gripit fixing, the hole needs an undercut so the fixing's legs have room to fold out behind the board. The Gripit Undercutting Tool range, available in 15mm, 18mm, 20mm and 25mm to match each fixing size, creates this undercut cleanly. A matching Flat Drill Bit is also available for the initial pilot hole.
Fitting a Gripit fixing: drill, tap, turn
Drill a hole through the plasterboard using the correct size drill bit for your chosen fixing. Use the matching undercutting tool to create space behind the board for the fixing's legs to fold out. Insert the Gripit fixing and turn it, which fans the legs out flat against the rear of the plasterboard, locking it in place and ready to take the load.
