DeWalt's XR and FlexVolt kits, such as the DCK266P2 and DCK2033X2, extend into higher-voltage 54V tools on the same battery. 12V vs 18V platforms
12V kits, including the Makita CLX224AJ/CLX228AJ and DeWalt DCK2110L2, are compact and lighter, suited to everyday tasks, tight spaces and users who don't need maximum power. 18V kits, the majority of the range, carry more power for demanding site and trade work, and remain the standard choice for most professional cordless setups.
Twin packs vs larger multi-tool kits
A twin pack, the most common format here, covers a combi drill and impact driver, the two tools most people reach for first.
