Eye Bolts

Doughty eye bolts are available in M6, M8, M10 and M12 thread sizes, each in standard and large eye versions. Large eye versions accept larger diameter shackles and wire rope fittings. All are zinc plated with WLL stamped on the body.

Eye Nuts

Standard, plated and tested and plated versions available. The Doughty Pink Eye Nut is a high-visibility 500kg WLL eye nut for use on hanging clamps and suspension points where the WLL marking must be clearly visible during inspection.

Doughty U bolts with plates are used to clamp tubes and bars in rigging structures and flying systems. Available in M8, M10 and M12 sizes. The Doughty Large U Bolt is available for larger diameter tube applications.

What to Look For

  • Collared vs non-collared eye bolts: collared eye bolts can accept loads from multiple directions and are the correct choice for stage rigging. Non-collared eye bolts are only suitable for purely vertical inline loads. Always use collared eye bolts for overhead rigging applications.
  • Thread size and WLL: match the thread size to your fixing point and always verify the WLL of the eye bolt or eye nut against the total suspended load with an appropriate safety margin.
  • Finish: standard zinc plated for general rigging. Tested and plated versions are individually proof tested before dispatch for critical load-bearing applications.

Pair with wire rope and fittings, shackles and links and our full rigging accessories range for a complete solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Doughty eye bolts are used to create certified suspension and attachment points in stage rigging, flying systems and overhead installations in theatre, TV studios and live events. They provide a threaded fixing point for connecting wire rope, shackles and rigging hardware to structural surfaces. All Doughty eye bolts are zinc plated and stamped with their WLL for visible load identification at the rigging point.
Doughty eye bolts are available in M6, M8, M10 and M12 thread sizes in standard and large eye versions. M8 is commonly used for lightweight fixture suspension points, while M10 and M12 are used for heavier loads and main suspension points. Always match the thread size to your fixing point and verify the Doughty eye bolt WLL exceeds your total suspended load before installation.
WLL stands for Working Load Limit, the maximum load a Doughty eye bolt is certified to support in normal use. Every Doughty eye bolt and eye nut has its WLL stamped directly onto the body so it is visible at the rigging point during installation and inspection. Always ensure the WLL exceeds your total suspended load including fixtures, cable and all attached accessories with an appropriate safety margin.
