Doughty Grip Equipment for Film, TV and Theatre
Doughty grip equipment covers the mounting hardware and accessories used to position, support and modify lighting on film, TV and theatre sets. Drop arms, grip heads, gobo arms and supaclamps are the core components that allow a single stand or bar to support lights, reflectors, flags and diffusion frames in virtually any position. All products are manufactured by Doughty Engineering to professional entertainment specification and are widely used by grip departments on film and TV productions across the UK.
Drop Arms
- Doughty Double Ended Drop Arms: 500mm, 1m and 2m lengths for extending fixtures horizontally from a stand or tube via grip heads at both ends.
- Doughty Single Ended Drop Arms (Adjustable): adjustable length from 250mm to 1000mm with 29mm receiver at one end.
- Doughty Double Riser Pole Set: for creating vertical riser positions from a horizontal bar or truss.
- Doughty Extension Poles: for extending the reach of a lighting stand or modular rigging system.
- Doughty Hi-Lift: a high lift extension for increasing the height of a lighting stand or boom.
Grip Heads and Clamps
- Doughty Griphead: the standard offset grip head for connecting drop arms and accessories to stands and tubes. Available in 65mm and 115mm sizes in polished and black finish. Conical clamping system for irregular shapes.
- Doughty Double Grip Head: for connecting two arms or accessories at a single grip point.
- Doughty Supaclamp: a versatile 20kg SWL clamp for attaching accessories to bars, stands and tubes. Available in aluminium and black with a range of pins, studs and extensions.
- Doughty Gaffer Clamp: with two 16mm receivers for fast attachment of baby accessories to stands and structures.
- Doughty Frame Clamp: 25mm and 50mm versions for clamping flag frames and diffusion frames to stands and tubes.
- Doughty Flat Clamp: with fixed 29mm receiver for attaching fixtures and accessories to flat surfaces.
- Doughty Barrel Socket Clamp: for attaching a 29mm receiver to a tube for flexible fixture positioning.
- Doughty Super Lightweight Coupler with Drop Arm: a combined coupler and drop arm for fast single-component rigging.
Arms and Headers
- Doughty Junior Arms and Headers: offset arms, double headers, triple headers and adjustable side arms fitted with 29mm spigots and receivers. For creating multi-fixture positions from a single rigging point.
- Doughty Baby Arms and Headers: offset arm, double header, triple header and adjustable side arm versions for 16mm baby accessories.
- Doughty Gobo Arms: 20" and 40" gobo arms with 65mm griphead for positioning flags, nets and diffusion frames.
- Doughty Gobo Extension Arms: 500mm and 1000mm extension arms for extending the reach of a gobo arm.
Polyholders and Flag Frames
- Doughty Polyholders: 25mm, 40mm and 50mm versions for holding diffusion, gels and filter materials on stands and arms.
- Doughty Floor Standing Polyholder: freestanding polyholder for diffusion and filter materials without a stand.
- Doughty Flag Frame Flat Aluminium: lightweight aluminium flag frames in 24" x 24", 36" x 36" and 48" x 48" for flags, nets and diffusion.
Modular Rigging Components
- Doughty Modular Drop Arm Tee (48mm): connects the modular drop arm system to a 48mm tube or truss.
- Doughty Modular Drop Arm Stirrup: aluminium stirrup for the modular drop arm system.
- Doughty Modular Drop Arm Tank Trap Adapter: connects the modular drop arm system to a Doughty tank trap base.
