Compact hand vacs
The Makita DCL180Z and Bosch GAS 18V-1 Professional are compact, one-handed hand vacs suited to quick workshop cleanup, tool bag debris and vehicle interiors. Black+Decker's smaller Dustbuster® models, including the HLVC320B11 Slim Dustbuster and NVC115JL, run on lower 12V and 3.6V power for lighter, everyday household and vehicle use rather than heavier workshop debris.
Stick vacuums for larger areas
The DeWalt DCV501LN and Black+Decker BHFEA18D1 POWERSERIES+ extend into a full stick vacuum format, better suited to floors and larger open areas than a compact hand vac. The DeWalt model carries L-Class dust rating, giving it a defined filtration standard for low-risk dust rather than being a purely domestic-grade vacuum.
Wet and dry pickup
The Black+Decker WDC215WA Wet & Dry Dustbuster and HiKOKI R18DSL/L4 handle both dust and liquid pickup, useful after wet cutting, drilling with water cooling, or general spills where a standard dry-only vacuum would be at risk of damage.
Backpack vacuum for extended runs
The Makita DVC261ZX11 runs on 36V power from two 18V batteries in a backpack format, freeing both hands and extending working time compared to a handheld unit, suited to longer cleanup sessions across larger sites.
Battery platform compatibility

Standards and compliance
Vacuums with L-Class or higher dust ratings, such as the DeWalt DCV501LN, are tested to EN 60335-2-69, the standard defining filtration performance for extracted dust. Standard domestic-style hand vacs without a stated dust class are built for general cleanup rather than filtering hazardous or fine construction dust, so for extracting hazardous dust at the point of creation, check our dedicated dust and chip extraction range instead.
