Doughty Aluminium Barrels and Steel Tubes

Doughty aluminium barrels and galvanised steel tubes are the standard 48mm outside diameter tubes used across stage, studio and live event installations. Both are fully compatible with the complete range of Doughty clamps, couplers, scaffold fittings, Pipeclamp fittings and Speedrail fittings. Aluminium barrels are the standard choice for suspended lighting rigs and horizontal lighting bars. Galvanised steel tube is used for ground-based structures, barriers and outdoor installations where higher load capacity or corrosion resistance is required.

  • Doughty Aluminium Barrel (Silver): lightweight 48mm aluminium tube for lighting bars, horizontal runs and suspended structures. The standard choice for most stage and studio installations. Available in 1m, 1.5m, 2m, 3m and 4m lengths.
  • Doughty Aluminium Barrel (Black): same specification as the silver barrel but anodised black. For installations where the tube is visible to the audience or camera, such as theatres, black box studios and broadcast environments.
  • Doughty Galvanised Steel Tube: heavy-duty 48mm steel tube with galvanised finish for corrosion resistance. For floor-based structures, barriers, outdoor events and applications where higher load capacity is required.
