Plusgas works by penetrating into the thread and surface rust of a seized fastener, breaking the bond between metal surfaces so the fastener can be turned without excessive force or heat. It's a long-standing choice among mechanics and engineers for freeing components that would otherwise risk shearing or rounding off during removal.
How Plusgas dismantling lubricant works
Plusgas is formulated to creep into the microscopic gaps between a threaded fastener and the surrounding rust or corrosion, loosening the bond that holds a seized part in place. Once it has had time to penetrate, the fastener can usually be worked free with normal hand tools, reducing the risk of rounding off a bolt head or snapping a stud that's been forced without lubrication first.
Aerosol vs tin: choosing the right format
The 200ml and 400ml aerosol cans give a directed spray, useful for reaching fasteners in awkward positions such as underneath a vehicle or inside an engine bay. The 500ml tin is better suited to workshop use where the lubricant is applied with a brush or dispenser, or where a larger working volume is needed for repeated jobs across a session.

Plusgas is widely used in automotive and motorcycle maintenance for freeing seized exhaust bolts, suspension components and engine fasteners exposed to road salt and moisture. It's also common in general workshop and site maintenance, wherever nuts, bolts, hinges or fittings have corroded from outdoor exposure or age.
