Quick Trigger Clamps
Doughty quick trigger clamps are the fast-rigging alternative to standard hook clamps for attaching stage lights, moving heads and rigging accessories to 38–51mm lighting bars, scaffold tube and truss. The spring-loaded jaws stay open and close automatically under the weight of the fixture — leaving both hands free to position the load. The lateral screw position allows the clamp to mount at any point on a truss piece without obstruction from cross webs, a key advantage over standard hook clamps. Built from high-tensile extruded aluminium, TÜV approved, and stamped with SWL.

When to Use a Trigger Clamp
- Touring and live events — faster get-in and get-out compared to bolt-tightened hook clamps
- Repertoire theatre — frequent re-rigging between shows without tools
- Moving heads and heavy fixtures — automatic closure under load means one person can position and secure a heavy lantern safely
- Tight truss formations — lateral screw position allows mounting at any point on a truss without cross-web obstruction
What to Look For
- Tube diameter — standard and slimline versions fit 38–51mm; Titan version fits 48–80mm for larger tubes
- Profile width — slimline (30mm) versions fit between truss web bars where a standard 50mm clamp cannot
- Receiver — TV versions include a 29mm receiver for drop arms and pantographs; standard versions use M12 bolt fixing
- TÜV / CE certification — all Doughty quick trigger clamps are independently certified and stamped with SWL
Safety note: Always use a secondary safety bond when rigging any fixture overhead, regardless of clamp type.
