Choosing Between Arc and MIG Welding

  • Arc (MMA) welders: the GYS GYSMI 80P and 160P use a flux-coated electrode to strike an arc directly onto the metal, offering a simple, portable setup with no shielding gas required. Well suited to outdoor use, general repairs and thicker steel sections.
  • MIG welders: the GYS Easymig 130 and Easymig 150 feed a continuous wire electrode through a torch, giving faster, cleaner welds with less spatter, particularly on thinner sheet metal such as automotive bodywork.
