Round head nails

Round head nails are the standard general-purpose fixing, covering lengths from 25mm up to 150mm. Available in both galvanised and bright finish, with galvanised suited to outdoor or damp conditions where corrosion resistance matters, and bright finish suited to general indoor carpentry. Bag sizes run from 500g for smaller jobs up to 2.5kg for larger projects or trade use.

Oval lost head nails

Oval lost head nails, in 40mm, 50mm, 65mm and 75mm, use a smaller, oval-shaped head designed to punch below the surface and be hidden with filler, suited to finish carpentry where a visible nail head isn't wanted.

Clout nails

The ForgeFix Clout Nail Galvanised (65mm) uses a wide, flat head suited to fixing roofing felt, sheet material and similar applications where a broad head prevents the nail pulling through.

Twist nails

The Twist Nails Sheradised (30mm) have a twisted shank that grips more securely than a standard smooth nail, resisting pull-out under load, useful where extra holding power matters.

Panel pins and veneer pins

Panel pins, covering 20mm through 50mm, give a slim, low-profile fixing for thin panels and light trim work, available in bright finish or sheradised for added corrosion resistance. Veneer pins, in 15mm and 20mm, are even finer, suited to securing veneer and delicate trim without splitting thin material.

Plasterboard nails

The Plasterboard Nail ZYP (30mm) and 40mm versions are purpose-built for fixing plasterboard to timber studwork, with a broad head that seats flush against the board surface.

Choosing bag size

Smaller 250g and 500g bags suit occasional use or smaller jobs, while 2.5kg bags work out more cost-effective for larger projects or trade use where nail consumption is higher.

Frequently Asked Questions

A round head nail has a visible, flat head suited to general fixing where the nail head doesn't need to be hidden. An oval lost head nail has a smaller head designed to punch below the surface and be covered with filler, suited to finish work.
Galvanised nails resist corrosion better, making them the right choice for outdoor use or damp conditions. Bright finish nails suit general indoor carpentry where corrosion isn't a concern.
Clout nails have a wide, flat head that prevents them pulling through material, commonly used for fixing roofing felt and other sheet materials.
Plasterboard nails have a broad head specifically shaped to seat flush against the board surface without tearing the paper facing, giving a cleaner, more secure fix than a standard nail would.
