We sell MTN chain hoist bags, designed in-house by Mountain Productions to collect and contain excess chain safely beneath electric chain hoists during rigging. Available in Double Hook, Round, Rigid Style and CM Prostar configurations, sized to match your hoist's lift height and chain capacity.
A properly sized chain bag prevents loose chain piling on the floor or stage, reducing trip hazards and chain damage during touring and installation work. MTN Chain Hoist Bags
MTN chain hoist bags are designed and made by Mountain Productions to collect excess chain beneath an electric or manual chain hoist during rigging, keeping loose chain contained and off the floor. A well-fitted chain bag reduces the risk of chain tangling, damage and trip hazards during touring, theatre and live event installations.
Choosing the Right Chain Bag
- Double Hook Chain Hoist Bag: available in sizes from 33cm to 102cm, sized to the lift height and chain volume of your hoist.
- Round Chain Hoist Bag: for use with CM Lodestar hoists, available in 33cm, 41cm and 51cm sizes.
- Rigid Style Chain Hoist Bag: available with V1 bracket (covering 12m to 30m lift) or V2 bracket (covering 6m to 30m lift) configurations, in sizes from 33cm to 64cm.
- CM Prostar Chain Hoist Bag: sized specifically for CM Prostar hoists, from 28cm up to 66cm.
- CM Series 622 Chain Hoist Bag: for the CM 622 manual chain hoist, available in 1/2-ton (25cm) and 1-ton (33cm) sizes, complete with bracket assembly.
Sizing Your Chain Bag
Chain bag size should be matched to your hoist's maximum lift height and chain capacity, not just the hoist model. A bag that's too small won't contain the full chain length at maximum lift, while an oversized bag adds unnecessary weight and bulk to the rig. Check the lift height listed against each bracket style before ordering to confirm it matches your hoist's specification.
