Two business areas make the company unique: This positioning of BESSEY as a producer of tools and precision steels ensures significant advantages in terms of quality.
Serving its customers for over 130 years.
The BESSEY success story all started with steel and its unique processing methods. The company was founded as a bright steel drawing plant in 1889 by Max Bessey in Stuttgart-Obertürkheim. Today BESSEY Präzisionsstahl GmbH is one of the leading German manufacturers and independent providers of bright and stainless steels. Thanks to the certification of its quality management systems according to ISO/TS 16949, BESSEY meets the highest standards of the automotive industry. BESSEY steel is used wherever there is a demand for maximum precision and optimum machinability.
The manufacturing of tools in which BESSEY steel is used started in the 1930s. Today precision steel rails and screw clamp spindles are still manufactured from the companies own production. Bessey's first own specially developed tool was an instant success: In 1936, Eugen Mayer, the company owner at that time, had his malleable cast iron screw clamp patented and the patent for a tempered all-steel clamp followed in 1952. BESSEY still remains the model for many innovative clamping tools. In 1979, with the takeover of Diener Werkzeugfabrik GmbH, a company rich in tradition, BESSEY expanded its product range with the already popular "Erdi" snips. Today BESSEY Tool GmbH & Co. KG has a worldwide presence in over 100 countries and primarily distributes its tools through specialist dealers to woodworking and metalworking companies.
No other tool manufacturers today even come close to such a broad and deep range at the same time: With over a thousand different clamping and cutting tools BESSEY meets the variety of tasks of craftsmen. Tools from BESSEY facilitate the daily work –and more than that: Suitable quality tool is a significant safety factor.
