Anchors and bolts for concrete and masonry
The MASONMATE® range covers several types of mechanical anchor, each suited to a different fixing job. Galvanised through bolts and zinc plated studs give a strong, permanent fixing into solid concrete or masonry. Hex concrete screwbolts and flangehex screwbolts thread directly into a pre-drilled hole without a separate anchor sleeve, speeding up installation on repetitive fixing tasks. Loose bolt shield anchors and hex loose bolt sleeve anchors expand against the sides of the drilled hole as the bolt is tightened, giving a secure hold in brick, block and concrete.
Wall plugs and frame fixings
Type E nylon plugs are a general purpose fixing for lighter loads into masonry, brick or block, used with a standard wood or self-tapping screw. Self tapping concrete frame screws are designed specifically for fixing door and window frames directly into masonry without a separate plug. Spring toggle and screw sets suit fixing into hollow materials such as plasterboard, where the toggle opens behind the surface to spread the load.
Choosing the right fixing for the job
Match the fixing type to both the base material and the load. Heavy, structural fixings into solid concrete call for a through bolt or sleeve anchor rated for the load. Lighter fixings, such as mounting brackets or fittings into brick or block, are usually well served by a Type E nylon plug. Frame installation has its own dedicated fixing in the self tapping concrete frame screw, which avoids the extra step of plugging the hole first.
