Truss Adaptors
Truss adaptors are the interface hardware used to connect a lighting stand or ground support system to a section of aluminium truss, allowing truss to be used in a floor-supported configuration without overhead rigging points. They are an essential component for touring shows, live events and any production where the venue ceiling cannot be used for flying truss.

Typical applications
- Ground-supported lighting rigs — connecting truss sections to wind-up stands or crank stands for self-supporting lighting structures at concerts, festivals and events
- Goalpost and portal systems — spanning a horizontal truss run between two vertical stands using truss adaptors at the top of each stand
- Venues without overhead rigging — providing a safe, freestanding alternative to flown truss in spaces with low ceilings, no grid or no certified rigging points
- Temporary outdoor structures — fast-assembly ground support for touring and festival use
What to look for
- Truss compatibility — adaptors are sized to match specific truss chord diameters; confirm compatibility with your truss system before ordering
- Stand spigot size — most adaptors connect to the top spigot of a standard lighting stand; check the spigot diameter matches your stand
- SWL — the adaptor's safe working load must exceed the combined weight of the truss span and all attached fixtures and equipment
Safety note: Ground-supported truss systems must be designed and checked by a qualified rigger. Always verify the SWL of every component in the system — stand, adaptor and truss — against the total load before use.
