J-B Weld: Epoxy Adhesives Since the 1960s
MTN Shop sells J-B Weld, a US brand trusted since the 1960s for high-strength epoxy adhesives and repair compounds. The range covers general-purpose bonding through to specialist formulas for plastic, water, marine and high-heat applications, in liquid, syringe and putty formats.
Choosing the Right J-B Weld Formula
- Original Cold-Weld: the classic two-part epoxy, bonding metal, wood, ceramic and more, available in 30ml, 148ml and syringe formats.
- KwikWeld: a fast-setting epoxy for quick repairs where the Original's longer cure time isn't practical.
- PlasticWeld & PlasticBonder: epoxy putty and syringe formulas formulated specifically for bonding plastics, available in black and tan for colour-matched repairs.
- WaterWeld: an epoxy putty that cures underwater or on wet surfaces, suited to pipe and tank repairs.
- MarineWeld: a waterproof epoxy adhesive formulated for boat and marine repairs.
- SteelStik: a steel-reinforced epoxy putty for repairing and rebuilding metal surfaces.
- HighHeat & ExtremeHeat: epoxy formulas rated for high-temperature applications such as exhaust and engine repairs.
- KwikWood: an epoxy putty formulated to bond, fill and rebuild wood.
- FiberWeld Pipe Repair Cast: a fibreglass-reinforced wrap for repairing pipes under pressure.
- Perma-Lock Threadlockers: medium (blue) and high (red) strength threadlockers for securing fasteners against vibration and loosening.
Choosing Between Putty and Syringe Formats
Epoxy putty formats, such as SteelStik and WaterWeld, are hand-mixed and moulded by hand, making them well suited to filling gaps, rebuilding damaged sections or repairing curved surfaces. Syringe formats dispense two parts simultaneously in equal ratio, making them easier to apply precisely to a joint or crack, and are generally the better choice for bonding two surfaces together rather than filling or rebuilding.
Other Adhesives and Sealants
If your repair needs a structural or engineering-grade adhesive rather than epoxy, see our Bondloc range, covering anaerobic adhesives, instant adhesives and structural acrylics. For general construction sealing and weatherproofing, we also stock Geocel and Evo-Stik.
