Norbar

Norbar is a British-engineered specialist in torque control, and we stock the full range of torque wrenches, torque screwdrivers and torque multipliers, from precision instruments accurate to 0.3Nm through to industrial multipliers rated up to 2700Nm. Every Norbar tool is designed to apply and verify torque accurately, critical for fastenings where under or over-tightening can cause failure.

Whether you need a compact torque wrench for automotive work or an industrial torque multiplier for structural fastenings, our Norbar range covers precision applications across trade, industrial and rigging use.

Norbar Torque Wrenches by Application

MTN Shop stocks 58 Norbar products across torque wrenches, torque screwdrivers, ratchets and torque multipliers. Torque range and drive size determine which model suits your job, not just the price point, so matching the tool to your fastening spec matters more than picking the biggest number.

NorTorque® Adjustable Ratchet Torque Wrenches

The NorTorque® range covers general trade and industrial fastening with a dual scale display for reading torque in Nm or lbf·ft. Options span the NorTorque® 60 3/8in Drive 12-60Nm for lighter fastening, through the NorTorque® 200 and NorTorque® 300, up to the NorTorque® 340 for heavier fastening on a 1/2in drive. For applications needing a tethered tool to prevent drops at height, the NorTorque® Tethered Torque Wrench is available in multiple ranges.

Pro Series and Industrial Torque Wrenches

The Pro series covers automotive and general reversible torque wrenches, from the Pro 50 through to the Pro 400 mushroom head model on 3/4in drive. For structural and heavy industrial fastening, our Industrial Torque Wrench range, including the 3AR-N, 4AR-N and 5R-N, covers torque ranges up to 1,500Nm on 3/4in and 1in square drive.

Torque Multipliers for High-Torque Fastening

Where manual force alone isn't enough, a torque multiplier steps up applied torque without increasing physical effort. The HT3 Torque Multiplier reaches 2700Nm, and the HT3-1000 HandTorque® Multiplier covers the 100-1000Nm range, both used where extreme structural or flange fastenings exceed what a standard wrench can safely apply.

ProTronic Electronic Torque Wrenches

For applications needing a logged, verifiable torque reading, the ProTronic range provides electronic torque measurement rather than a mechanical scale. The ProTronic 200 and ProTronic 340 cover general electronic torque wrench use, while the ProTronic Plus 30 and ProTronic Plus 9 Screwdriver extend electronic accuracy down to low-torque precision fastening.

Torque Screwdrivers

For fine electronic, precision and assembly work, our torque screwdriver range spans the 1/4in Hex Torque Screwdriver 1-3.0Nm up to the Torque Screwdriver 1.2-6Nm, with kit versions such as the Torque Screwdriver Kit 0.3-1.5Nm supplied complete with interchangeable bits.

Checking and Verifying Torque Tools

A torque wrench that hasn't been calibrated or checked can be as unreliable as no torque control at all. The TruCheck™ 2 Torque Wrench Checker range lets you verify a torque wrench's accuracy in-house between full calibrations, with models covering 0.5-10Nm, 1.5-30Nm and 10-350Nm.

Torque Wrenches for Rigging and Entertainment

Norbar torque wrenches are also specified in entertainment and stage rigging, where shackles, beam clamps and other load-bearing hardware must be fastened to a certified torque value rather than "tight by feel." Getting torque wrong on rigging hardware isn't just a mechanical issue, it's a safety-critical one, which is why touring and arena riggers increasingly use verified torque tools rather than relying on experience alone.

Warranty and Standards

All Norbar tools sold by MTN Shop are genuine stock, sourced through official UK distribution, so full manufacturer warranty applies as it would from Norbar directly. Norbar torque wrenches are manufactured to ISO 6789 accuracy standards, and calibration certificates are available on request for tools used in safety-critical or audited applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

NorTorque® is Norbar's general trade and industrial ratchet range with a dual scale display. Pro wrenches are built for automotive and general reversible use. The Industrial range (3AR-N, 4AR-N, 5R-N) covers the heaviest torque ranges, up to 1,500Nm, for structural and heavy fastening work.
A torque multiplier is used when the required torque exceeds what a standard wrench can safely apply by hand, typically above 800-1000Nm, such as large structural bolts or heavy industrial flanges.
A TruCheck™ 2 Torque Wrench Checker lets you verify a torque wrench's accuracy in-house between full calibrations, which is useful for tools in frequent or safety-critical use.
Load-bearing rigging hardware, such as shackles and beam clamps, has a specified torque value for safe use. Tightening by feel risks under-torquing (reducing holding strength) or over-torquing (risking thread or component damage), so a calibrated torque wrench removes that guesswork.
