  • Hook Clamps: steel truss clamp for general stage use. 20mm to 75mm tube. Affordable and stamped with SWL.
  • Half Couplers: aluminium wrap-around clamp for 48mm to 63mm tube. Higher SWL and better truss protection than a hook clamp.
  • Quick Trigger Clamps: one-person rigging of heavy fixtures at any point on a truss, no obstruction from cross webs.
  • Small Tube Clamps (Atom): for 25mm to 38mm tube. Ideal for decorative truss, stand centre tubes and studio bars.
  • Large Tube Clamps (Mammoth): for 60mm to 63mm tube. Heavy-duty aluminium, SWL up to 500kg.

Safety and Certifications

Every Doughty clamp sold by MTN Shop UK is independently TÜV certified and CE marked. The Safe Working Load is stamped directly onto every unit so it is visible at the rigging point during installation and inspection. When selecting a clamp, always calculate the total suspended load including the fixture, cable and any attached accessories, and ensure the clamp SWL exceeds that total. A secondary safety bond must always be used when rigging any fixture overhead, regardless of clamp type. Doughty clamps are used to attach stage lighting fixtures, speakers and moving heads to lighting bars, scaffold tubes and truss in theatre, film, TV and live events. Doughty Engineering has manufactured stage rigging clamps in the UK since 1985. All clamps are TÜV certified and CE marked.
A hook clamp attaches to a tube by hooking over it and is secured with a single bolt. A half coupler wraps fully around the tube for a greater grip. Hook clamps are faster to fit and suitable for most standard applications. Half couplers are preferred for heavier loads or where a hook clamp might twist under the load direction.
Most Doughty clamps fit 48mm to 51mm tube, the industry standard for stage lighting bars and scaffold tube. The Atom range covers 25mm to 38mm and the Mammoth range covers 60mm to 63mm. Steel hook clamps are also available from 20mm to 75mm.
SWL stands for Safe Working Load, the maximum load a clamp is certified to support. Every Doughty clamp has its SWL stamped onto the body so it is visible at the rigging point. Always use a secondary safety bond when rigging any fixture overhead.
