Pennine Lubricants
Established in 1989 and based in Sheffield, Pennine blends all its lubricants using 100% virgin base oils, batch tested before release under ISO 9001 accreditation. We sell the full Pennine range, covering hydraulic oils, gear oils, cutting and metalworking fluids, greases, degreasers, coolant and chainsaw oil.
Sheffield's manufacturing heritage runs through everything Pennine produces, and that background shows in a range built for real industrial use rather than general-purpose convenience. Whether you're maintaining hydraulic power packs, running a machine shop, servicing gearboxes or keeping a chainsaw fleet cutting cleanly, the range covers the specific viscosity, formulation and pack size the job calls for, from 5 litre containers up to 1000 litre IBCs for high-volume use.

Quality and certification
Every Pennine lubricant is manufactured using 100% virgin base oils rather than re-refined stock, and each batch is tested before release under Pennine's ISO 9001 quality accreditation. This batch testing confirms the oil meets its stated viscosity and performance specification before it reaches site, which matters most in applications like hydraulics and metalworking where the wrong oil can cause premature wear or equipment failure.
Hydraulic and compressor oils
The right hydraulic fluid protects against rust, improves anti-wear performance and maintains thermal stability across the system's operating range. Pennine hydraulic oils are available from ISO 10 through to 150 viscosity grades, covering mobile and stationary hydraulic systems, with a biodegradable hydraulic oil option for sites where environmental impact is a concern. Compressor and airline oils are available across four viscosity grades, designed for safe, reliable lubrication through the compressor's service life.
Gear oils and industrial lubricants
Heavy duty EP gear oils cover a wide range of viscosities for industrial gearboxes, alongside synthetic EP gear oil ranges for higher performance applications. Slideway oils, spindle oil and heat transfer oil round out the industrial range for machine tool and processing equipment lubrication needs beyond general gearing.
Cutting, grinding and metalworking fluids
For machining and metalworking, Pennine supplies neat cutting oils, water soluble metalworking fluids, grinding oils and spark erosion fluid, each formulated for a specific machining process. Choosing the right fluid affects tool life, surface finish and how well swarf and heat are carried away from the cutting edge, so matching the fluid to the operation matters as much as the machine settings.
Chainsaw oils
Chain oil reduces friction and prevents clogging on the bar and chain, protecting against premature wear and helping the saw run cleanly. Pennine chainsaw oil is available in a standard formulation and a biodegradable version, suited to forestry and outdoor use where oil runoff into soil or waterways is a concern.
Greases, degreasers and workshop consumables
The range also covers Lithium EP2 grease for general purpose lubrication, industrial degreasers and cleaning fluids for parts and equipment, hand cleaners for workshop use, and antifreeze coolant for vehicle and plant cooling systems.
