Lubricants & Oils
Discover our range of lubricants and oils from ROCOL, WD-40, Pennine, Tri-Flow and Plusgas, covering penetrating sprays, greases, gear and hydraulic oils, cutting fluids, anti-seize compounds and specialist industrial products.
Choosing the right lubricant depends on the load, speed and environment it needs to survive in. Light penetrating sprays free seized fasteners and displace moisture, greases protect bearings and moving parts under sustained load, while gear, hydraulic and cutting oils are formulated for specific machinery and metalworking applications.

Lubricants & Oils – Product list
Penetrating and Multi-Purpose Lubricant Sprays
Penetrating sprays and multi-purpose lubricants are useful for freeing seized fasteners, protecting metal components and providing general-purpose lubrication. The collection includes the WD-40 Multi-Use Smart Straw and WD-40 Multi-Use Product 5 Litre, alongside the GT85 Multi-Purpose PTFE Spray.
For penetrating and dismantling applications, ROCOL Penetrating Spray and Plusgas Dismantling Lubricant are available in both aerosol and tin formats. These products are intended for maintenance tasks where penetrating lubrication is required to help release seized or difficult-to-remove components.
Silicone and PTFE Lubricants
Silicone and PTFE lubricants provide specialist lubrication for a variety of mechanisms, components and surfaces. ROCOL's PRECISION SILICONE Spray and SAPPHIRE Precision Lube Spray provide options for precision lubrication, while WD-40 Specialist Silicone Spray and MOTIP Pro Silicone Spray provide additional silicone-based options.
PTFE-based products can be useful where a clean lubricating film is required. Always check the individual product specification and compatibility before applying a lubricant to plastics, seals, electrical components or other specialist materials.
Industrial Greases and Bearing Lubricants
Grease provides longer-lasting lubrication for many bearings, moving components and mechanical assemblies where a suitable semi-solid lubricant is required. ROCOL's SAPPHIRE range includes the Extreme Bearing Grease, SAPPHIRE 2 Bearing Grease, water-resistant Aqua 2 Bearing Grease and Advance 2 Multipurpose Grease.
For applications within food-processing environments, selected ROCOL FOODLUBE products are available, including FOODLUBE Universal Bearing Grease and FOODLUBE MultiPaste. For other general maintenance requirements, the range also includes WD-40 Specialist White Lithium Grease and WD-40 Specialist Spray Grease.
Chain, Gear and Open Gear Lubricants
Chain lubricants and gear lubricants are formulated for moving mechanical components where the lubricant needs to remain effective under the relevant operating conditions. ROCOL CHAIN GUARD Hi-Load Spray and CHAIN & DRIVE Fluid provide options for chain lubrication, while TUFGEAR Open Gear Lubricant Spray is designed for exposed gear systems.
When choosing a chain or gear lubricant, consider the equipment manufacturer's requirements, operating temperature, load and environmental conditions. The correct viscosity and lubricant type are important for reliable ongoing maintenance.
Gear Oils, Hydraulic Oils and Industrial Lubricants
Industrial oils cover a range of machinery and maintenance applications where the correct viscosity and formulation are important. Pennine Heavy Duty Gear Oil includes EP 80W/90, while the Industrial Heavy Duty EP Gear Oil range provides multiple viscosity grades for different equipment requirements.
The collection also includes Pennine HVI Hydraulic Oils, Slideway Oils TX and Compressor & Airline Oils. These specialist lubricants are intended for specific machinery and systems, so the manufacturer's recommended oil type and viscosity should always be checked before use.
Metalworking and Cutting Fluids
Cutting fluids provide lubrication and cooling during metalworking operations. ROCOL's ULTRACUT EVO range includes the ULTRACUT EVO 250 Cutting Fluid, alongside other grades and MULTISOL Water Mix Cutting Fluid options.
Using the appropriate metalworking fluid can help manage heat and friction during machining and cutting operations. Product selection should take account of the material being worked, machining process, equipment and manufacturer's recommendations.
Anti-Seize Compounds, Corrosion Protection and Specialist Maintenance Products
Anti-seize compounds are used on suitable threaded connections and components where future dismantling and protection against seizure are important. The ROCOL ANTI-SEIZE Compound provides an option for maintenance applications, while RTD Compound and RAPIDSEAL cover further specialist machining and sealing requirements.
For corrosion prevention and metal surface protection, the collection includes ROCOL MOISTURE GUARD Clear Spray, GALVA BRIGHT and GALVA FLASH.
The range also includes specialist diagnostic and engineering products such as the ROCOL FLAWFINDER system, FLAWFINDER Developer Spray, LAYOUT INK Spray and LEAK DETECTOR Spray.
Choosing the Right Lubricant or Oil
The correct lubricant or oil depends on the application, equipment, operating conditions and manufacturer's specification. Penetrating sprays are intended for different tasks from bearing greases, while gear oils, hydraulic oils, compressor oils and slideway oils each have specific requirements. Viscosity, operating temperature, load, water exposure and compatibility should all be considered when selecting a product.
For specialist machinery, always follow the equipment manufacturer's recommended lubricant type and viscosity. Using an unsuitable oil or grease can affect lubrication performance and may lead to premature component wear or maintenance issues.
