Spanners, Sockets & Ratchets – Product list

Adjustable wrenches

Bahco's adjustable wrench range spans from the compact 8069 100mm (4in) up to the substantial 86 600mm (24in), with the 8070/71/72 3 Piece Set covering common sizes in one purchase. The Wide Jaw Adjustable Wrench with Hook gives extra jaw capacity for larger fittings. Faithfull's Contract Adjustable Spanner range and Stanley's MaxSteel Adjustable Wrench offer lower-cost alternatives for general workshop use.

Sockets

Sockets are the largest single category here, with Teng's range covering hexagon sockets in 6-point and 12-point (bi-hexagon) configurations across 1/4in, 3/8in, 1/2in and 3/4in drive sizes. Deep sockets, such as the Teng Bi-Hexagon Socket Deep 12-Point 21mm, reach further onto a bolt or nut than standard-depth sockets, useful when the fastener sits recessed or has a long stud protruding through it. TORX socket bits, including tamper-proof versions like the TX Tamper-Proof T40, cover star-drive fasteners increasingly common on modern equipment and automotive applications.

Ratchets

The Bahco Swivel Head Ratchet 1/2in Drive pivots at the head, giving access to fasteners at awkward angles a fixed-head ratchet can't reach cleanly. Match ratchet drive size to your socket set, since 1/4in, 3/8in and 1/2in drives aren't interchangeable without an adaptor.

Torque wrenches

Norbar dominates this category with several distinct ranges. The NorTorque series, including the NorTorque 60 (12-60Nm) through NorTorque 340 (60-340Nm), gives adjustable, dual-scale ratchet torque wrenches for calibrated fastening across common ranges. The TTi series covers lighter, more precise work from 4-20Nm, while the Pro range and Model series step up to heavier industrial torque, including the Model 1500 (500-1500Nm) and 4AR-N Industrial (200-800Nm). For torque beyond what a standard wrench can apply by hand, the Norbar HT3 Torque Multiplier reaches 2700Nm. Teng's torque wrench range, from the 1492AG-E (5-25Nm) to the 3492AGE1 (140-700Nm), gives further options across drive sizes.

Pipe wrenches

RIDGID's Straight Pipe Wrench and Stillson type ranges, alongside Bahco's 361-24 Stillson Type (600mm) and 361-36 (900mm), give strong gripping force on round pipe and fittings. Strap wrenches, such as the RIDGID No.5 Strap Wrench, grip without marking the pipe surface, useful on chrome or polished fittings where a standard toothed pipe wrench would leave marks. Faithfull's Lever Action Pipe Wrench range gives a more compact, lower-cost option for lighter plumbing tasks.

Torque wrench accessories

Norbar's spigot fittings, such as the 16mm Spigot Ring End Fitting and 16mm Spigot Open End Fitting, adapt a torque wrench body to different head types, letting one wrench cover multiple fastener styles without buying a complete separate torque wrench for each.

Choosing the right drive size

Drive size determines which sockets and accessories fit a given ratchet or torque wrench. 1/4in suits light, precision work, 3/8in and 1/2in cover the majority of general trade and automotive tasks, and 3/4in and 1in drives handle heavy industrial fastening where higher torque is required. Always match new sockets and accessories to your existing drive size before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

A 6-point socket grips a hexagonal fastener's flats more securely, reducing the risk of rounding off the bolt head under high torque. A 12-point socket fits onto the fastener in more positions, useful in tight spaces where a full swing of the ratchet isn't possible.
A torque wrench applies a specific, calibrated amount of force to a fastener, essential where under or over-tightening could damage a component or cause a joint to fail, such as automotive wheel nuts or structural bolts.
A pipe wrench uses toothed jaws that grip firmly but can mark the pipe surface. A strap wrench uses a smooth strap to grip without marking, better suited to chrome, polished, or coated pipe and fittings.
Match drive size to the task: 1/4in suits light, precision work, 3/8in and 1/2in cover most general trade and automotive fastening, and 3/4in or 1in drives handle heavier industrial applications requiring higher torque.
No, spigot fittings and other accessories are sized to match a specific torque wrench body and drive type, so check compatibility with your exact wrench model before ordering.
