Small Tube Clamps (Atom)

Small tube clamps — known as the Atom range by Doughty — are lightweight aluminium clamps designed for tubes with an external diameter of 25mm to 38mm. They are the go-to solution for hanging fixtures from decorative truss, stand centre tubes, and smaller bars where a standard 48mm hook clamp would not fit.

Compatible tube diameters

• 25mm — smallest Atom clamp, 21mm wide, M6 bolt fixing
• 32mm — common on lightweight truss chords and studio stands
• 35mm — M10 bolt fixing, suits a range of stand and truss applications
• 38mm — largest Atom size, M10 bolt fixing, suitable for heavier lightweight truss

Typical applications

• Shop displays and exhibition stands — lightweight and clean-looking in polished or black finish
• Film and TV lighting — quick to rig on smaller diameter studio bars
• Decorative truss — will not damage or mark truss chords
• Lighting stands — fits the centre tube on most standard stands

What to look for

• SWL 100kg — all Atom clamps are rated to 100kg WLL and TÜV certified
• Material — high-tensile extruded aluminium; available in polished silver or powder coated black
• Fixing — captive bolt design prevents the bolt from being lost during rigging

Safety note: Always use a secondary safety bond or safety cable when rigging any fixture overhead, regardless of clamp type.
