Reciprocating Blades – Product list
Reciprocating blades for wood and general cutting
Reciprocating blades for wood cutting are available across different lengths and tooth configurations for a range of cutting requirements. The collection includes the Faithfull S617K Sabre Saw Blade Wood 150mm 3 TPI and the DeWALT Power Tools HCS Reciprocating Blade for Wood, Fast Cuts 152mm x 6 TPI. These provide shorter blade options for wood-focused cutting work.
For longer wood-cutting blades, Starrett offers the Starrett BT96-5 Bi-Metal Reciprocating Blade, Wood Tapered 228mm 6 TPI, the Starrett BT123-5 Bi-Metal Reciprocating Blade, Wood Tapered 300mm 3 TPI and the Starrett BT12610-5 Bi-Metal Reciprocating Blade, Tapered 300mm 6-10 TPI.
Metal cutting reciprocating blades
Metal cutting blades in the collection cover different thickness requirements through different tooth counts and blade dimensions. The Irwin Sabre Saw Blade 818R 200mm Metal Cutting Pack of 25 has an 18 TPI configuration and is specified for metal materials between 1.5mm and 10mm thick, depending on the blade TPI. The Irwin 614R Bi-Metal Sabre Saw Blades for Metal Cutting 150mm Pack of 25 provides another dedicated metal-cutting option.
Starrett's metal range includes the Starrett B818-5 Bi-Metal Reciprocating Blade, Metal Straight 203mm 18 TPI, as well as 152mm B614-5, B618-5 and B624-5 options in 14, 18 and 24 TPI. The collection therefore provides different combinations of blade length and tooth configuration for metal-cutting requirements.
Bi-metal reciprocating saw blades
Bi-metal construction is widely represented across this collection, with products from Bahco, Faithfull, Irwin and Starrett. Bahco's Wood & Metal Bi-Metal Reciprocating Blade 228mm 6 TPI is designed for demanding wood cutting and can also be used for thick metal materials. It uses Sandflex bi-metal construction and has a thicker blade design with a narrow, sloped nose.
Faithfull also offers bi-metal sabre saw blades including the Faithfull S1411DF Bi-Metal Sabre Saw Blade Demolition 300mm 6 TPI and Faithfull S1120HF Bi-Metal Sabre Saw Blade Demolition 300mm 10 TPI. Irwin's range includes the 110R 300mm Metal & Wood Cutting blade, while Starrett provides multiple bi-metal wood, metal and demolition configurations.
Demolition reciprocating blades
For demolition applications, the collection includes thicker and longer blades designed for demanding cutting work. Faithfull's S1120HF Bi-Metal Sabre Saw Blade Demolition 300mm 10 TPI provides a 300mm option, while the Irwin 966R 225mm Sabre Saw Blade Demolition offers a shorter demolition blade.
Starrett's King Cut range includes the Starrett BTR61014-5 Bi-Metal King Cut Demolition Blade 152mm 10-14 TPI, the BTR91014-5 228mm 10-14 TPI and longer 300mm versions. LENOX also offers DEMOLITION CT reciprocating blades in 150mm, 230mm and 300mm lengths.
Masonry, plasterboard and specialist blades
The collection includes specialist reciprocating blades for materials beyond standard wood and metal. The Irwin Sabre Saw Blade MRB Masonry 300mm x 50mm is specifically listed for masonry applications. Starrett also offers the Starrett VB66-5 Bi-Metal Reciprocating Blade, Plasterboard 152mm for plasterboard work.
For specialist cutting requirements, the collection includes carbide grit and diamond products. The Starrett Carbide Grit Reciprocating Saw Blade 152mm Coarse #30 provides a carbide grit configuration, while the LENOX 800RDG DIAMOND Reciprocating Saw Blade 200mm uses a diamond configuration.
Blade length, TPI and pack sizes
Blade length and TPI are two important specifications when choosing a reciprocating saw blade. The collection ranges from 100mm Starrett metal-cutting blades through 150mm and 152mm options, 200mm and 203mm blades, 225mm, 228mm and 230mm sizes, up to 300mm blades. This allows customers to choose a blade dimension suited to the product specification and cutting requirement.
TPI also varies considerably. Starrett products include 3, 6, 6-10, 10, 10-14, 14, 18 and 24 TPI configurations, while Irwin's metal-cutting 818R is an 18 TPI blade. Lower TPI configurations are represented in several wood and demolition blades, while higher TPI options appear in metal-focused products. The collection also includes packs of 2, 5 and 25, plus multi-piece blade sets.
Choosing the right reciprocating blade
Start by identifying the material and application, then check the blade construction, length and TPI. Wood, metal, masonry and plasterboard require different blade specifications, so the product description should be checked before selecting a replacement. Bi-metal blades are widely available for demanding wood, metal and demolition applications, while carbide grit and diamond products provide specialist options within the collection.
