Rigging Hardware
Rigging hardware covers the load-bearing components used to build safe overhead rigging systems in theatres, arenas, concert venues and live event spaces. Shackles, beam clamps, slings, wire rope and winches are the foundational elements that connect, suspend and control everything from lighting rigs and truss systems to scenic pieces and curtain battens. Every component in a rigging system must be rated, inspected and used within its stated Working Load Limit — a rigging system is only as strong as its weakest link.
Part of our entertainment and stage rigging range. Browse all rigging accessories or visit our rigging hardware guide for more information.
What's in this range
- Beam clamps — attach directly to structural steel I-beams and H-beams to create certified rigging points for hoists, chain motors and lighting rigs without drilling
- Bow shackles — the standard connecting link in entertainment rigging; used to join slings, wire rope and lifting hardware at rigging points and motor connections
- Shackles & links — a wider range of connecting hardware including dee shackles, snap shackles and master links for various rigging configurations
- Rigging slings — round slings, wire rope slings and webbing slings for wrapping structural beams and creating basket hitches at rigging points
- Ratchet straps — securing and tensioning equipment, cases and structures during transport and on site
- Wire rope & fittings — steel wire rope, thimbles, ferrules and rope clips for fabricating custom suspension assemblies and drift wires
- Stage pulleys — loft blocks, head blocks and single purchase pulleys for counterweight fly systems, curtain tracks and manual rigging
- Truss adaptors — interface hardware for connecting aluminium truss sections to ground support stands and lighting systems
- Worm gear winches — manual hand winches for raising and lowering lighting bars, scenic pieces and curtain battens in theatres and permanent venue installs
Safety & compliance
- All rigging hardware must carry a rated Working Load Limit (WLL) and be used within that limit at all times
- Entertainment rigging in the UK is subject to LOLER regulations — all lifting equipment must be regularly inspected by a competent person
- For overhead rigging above performers and audiences, a minimum 5:1 design factor is the industry standard
- Never use unmarked or unrated hardware for overhead lifting in entertainment applications
