Wet & Dry Vacuums
We sell wet and dry vacuums from Makita, DeWalt, Bosch, Metabo, Karcher, Nilfisk, Flex Power Tools and Evolution, covering L, M and H dust class ratings in corded and 18V/36V cordless configurations, including models with power take off for direct tool connection.
A wet and dry vacuum handles both liquid spills and dust or debris, making it a more versatile choice than a standard dry-only vacuum for workshop, construction and site cleanup. Beyond wet pickup, the dust class rating is the key spec to check, since it determines what type of dust the vacuum is safe and effective to extract.

Understanding dust class: L, M and H
Dust class ratings under EN 60335-2-69 define how effectively a vacuum filters hazardous dust, and choosing the right class matters for both performance and legal compliance. L-Class vacuums, such as the Makita VC2012L and DeWalt DCV517N, suit low-risk dust with no defined workplace exposure limit. M-Class vacuums, including the Makita VC3012M and Metabo ASR 35 M ACP, are rated for medium-risk dust such as wood and mineral dust with a workplace exposure limit down to 0.1mg/m³. H-Class vacuums, such as the Bosch GAS 35 H AFC and DeWalt DWV905H, are rated for the highest-risk hazardous dust, including certain hardwood dusts and materials with very low exposure limits. Under UK COSHH regulations, employers must control exposure to hazardous dust at source where reasonably practicable, so matching the vacuum's dust class to the material being worked is a compliance matter, not just a performance choice.
Corded vs cordless
Corded models, ranging from compact 1000W units up to the 1400W Bosch GAS 35 and Metabo ASR 35 ranges, give continuous suction for extended site or workshop use. Cordless options, including Makita's 36V DVC155LZX, DVC156LZX and DVC865LZX3 ranges and the DeWalt DCV584L FlexVolt, give mobility around a site without a trailing cable, running on doubled-up 18V batteries for the power needed to maintain suction.
Power take off for direct tool connection
Several models, including the Makita VC2012L, VC3011L, VC4210MX/1 and Nilfisk Multi ll ranges, include power take off, letting a compatible power tool plug directly into the vacuum so it starts and stops automatically with the tool. This keeps dust extraction synchronised with actual tool use rather than needing to be switched on and off manually.
Choosing a capacity
Smaller units around 12-20 litres suit occasional use, vehicles or tight storage, while larger 30-38 litre vacuums, such as the Einhell TE-VC 1930 SA and DeWalt DWV905H, reduce how often you need to empty the tank during continuous work, better suited to daily trade or workshop use.
