Doughty Speedrail is a modular tube fitting system for building lightweight, clean-looking structural frameworks on stage, in studios and at live events. Speedrail fittings connect directly onto standard 48mm tube using an allen key with no welding and no threading required, in standard and angled configurations to suit different structural layouts.

Doughty Speedrail — Modular Tube Fitting System for Stage and Studio
Doughty Speedrail is a proprietary modular tube fitting system for building lightweight structural frameworks, handrails, barriers and studio grid supports from standard 48mm tube. Speedrail fittings connect directly onto the tube using a grub screw tightened with an allen key, with no welding or threading required. Available in fixed angle and adjustable configurations, the Speedrail system is designed for stage, studio and live event applications where a clean, fast-assembly structure is needed.

- Doughty Speedrail Angle Tee 45 Degree: branches off a main tube run at a 45 degree angle for diagonal runs and non-perpendicular connections.
- Doughty Speedrail Angled Cross 10 to 35 Degree: four-way fitting for intersecting tube runs at shallow angles between 10 and 35 degrees.
- Doughty Speedrail Angled Cross 30 to 45 Degree: four-way fitting for intersecting tube runs at angles between 30 and 45 degrees.
- Doughty Speedrail Adjustable Crossover: adjustable fitting for crossing two tube runs at a variable angle, for non-standard layouts where a fixed crossover will not suit.
- Doughty Speedrail Railing Side Support: wall or floor-mounted bracket for anchoring a Speedrail tube run to a fixed surface, for handrails, barriers and side-supported structures.
- Doughty Speedrail Screw (Stainless): stainless steel replacement screw for Speedrail fittings, for outdoor and high-humidity installations where corrosion resistance is required.
- Doughty Speedrail Hexagon Allen Key: the dedicated allen key for tightening and adjusting Speedrail fittings on site.
What to Look For
- Angle range: angled cross fittings come in two ranges: 10 to 35 degrees and 30 to 45 degrees. Select the correct version for your required intersection angle.
- Fixed vs adjustable: use angled cross fittings when the angle is known and fixed. Use the adjustable crossover when the angle needs to be set on site or may change.
- Tube diameter: all Speedrail fittings are designed for 48mm OD tube. Speedrail is not compatible with Pipeclamp fittings as the two systems use different fixing mechanisms and are not interchangeable.
