The KASK Plasma Helmet Series was a long-standing staple here at MTN SHOP. Widely used across industrial and work-at-height applications, KASK has given the Plasma series an upgrade with the introduction of the SuperPlasma range.
In this article, we’ll look at what changed with the move from Plasma to SuperPlasma and compare the key features of the SuperPlasma AQ, HP and PL.
Introducing the KASK SuperPlasma Range
The SuperPlasma range builds on what made the original Plasma helmets so popular, while introducing a number of updates to improve fit, comfort and day-to-day usability.
There are three models in the range – AQ, HP and PL – each developed for different environments and certification needs.
KASK SuperPlasma AQ
The KASK SuperPlasma AQ Helmet still includes the notable features of its predecessor such as ventilation channels with 10 air intakes for maximum breathability, alongside visor and earmuff attachment points that allow you to get the most out of your helmet.
The SuperPlasma AQ introduces brand new and improved user-friendly features such as:
Updated Aesthetic Details: Accessory attachment areas feature an all-black finish for a cleaner, more streamlined look.
Improved Anti-Intrusion Mesh: Metal mesh vent covers help prevent debris from entering the ventilation channels while maintaining airflow.
New Quick Fit System: The size adjustment system has been upgraded for improved neck stability, comfortability and compatibility with accessories.
New Colour Coded Buckle: The SuperPlasma AQ features a new orange chinstrap fastener, with KASK using colour-coded fasteners to indicate the helmet’s EN standard compliance rating. The AQ is certified to EN 397 and select clauses of EN 12492, including front, lateral and rear shock absorption, as well as penetration resistance.
KASK SuperPlasma HP
The KASK SuperPlasma HP is the high-performance model in the range, certified to EN 14052 for use in higher-risk industrial environments. It also meets selected requirements of EN 12492 for front, lateral and rear impact protection, along with selected EN 397 requirements.
The updated SuperPlasma HP also introduced several changes across fit and appearance:

New Colour Coded Buckle: The SuperPlasma HP features an orange chinstrap fastener, which KASK uses to indicate compliance with the EN 14052 standard.
KASK SuperPlasma PL
While the SuperPlasma PL has retained its name, it has also been upgraded with improvements to fit, comfort and everyday usability. One of its key features is KASK’s Up & Down System, which uses a central adjustment dial and side wings to help provide a more secure and personalised fit.
